Joe Palasiewicz is a Somonauk native who graduated from Somonauk High School in 2013. After a standout senior baseball season, Joe continued his athletic career at NCAA D3 Benedictine University where he continued to play for the next 4 years. Aside from his baseball successes, Joe graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biological Physics and will be attending Northern Illinois University in the fall of 2017 to pursue his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. His love for baseball, health, and fitness have always made him an avid gym goer and he is now bringing his talents to the Fox Valley Family YMCA in the form of numerous group classes as well as personal training. Along with his knowledge of baseball, Joe specializes in strength training, functional fitness, and injury prevention.

12+ Year Old Pitching | This class will expect individuals to come in with a basic background in baseball. The primary focus will be pitching mechanics, mindset, and pitch selection/location. This class will also at times hone in on fielding skills as well as overall athleticism and injury prevention (from the aspects of a pitcher).

8-11 Year Old Pitching | The 8-11-year-old class will be more geared toward the development of very basic pitching mechanics. One can expect to develop more knowledge about what being a pitcher means as well as the framework for moving onto more pitcher specific training. This class will have an additional focus on proper fielding mechanics including footwork and body position that will be transferable to any position on the field.

Speed and Agility is for any skill level athlete looking to improve their current athletic performance. Exercises are designed to improve overall quickness, strength, and coordination.  There will be a concentration on footwork, legs and core strength.
