Central Branch Pool
Our pool is 8 lanes wide and 25 yards long. Depth varies from 3 1/2 – 9 feet. Water temperature is kept between 83-85 degrees.
Children’s Swim Lessons
We offer swim lessons to children as young as 6 months old. Parent/Child classes include SKI-Baby, Perch, Pike, Eel, Ray, and Starfish. Youth classes include Polliwog, Guppy, Minnow, Fish, and Flying Fish. See Children’s Aquatics for more information.
Private Swim Lessons
Available to those age 2-98 who do not feel comfortable in a group lesson. This class is constructed around the abilities of the participant and taken at a pace that works for the swimmer.
AquaForce Swim Team
A competitive youth swim program for YMCA member’s ages 5-21. See the AquaForce page for more information.
Adult Aqua Fitness Classes
The body is almost weightless in the water, which makes it ideal for increasing lower body strength. See Adult Aquatics for more information.

Pool Rules:
• The lifeguard on duty has final authority on rules and safety.
• No food, drink or gum allowed in the pool area.
• Anyone under the age of 18 must pass swim test to be permitted in the deep end of the pool.
• No running, pushing, dunking or horseplay of any kind.
• Kickboards, hand paddles, pull buoys, and fins are only for use by lap swimmers, swim clinic and swim lesson participants.
• Flotation devices must remain in the shallow end of the pool (this includes float belts and noodles)
• Proper swim attire only-no cutoffs or colored t-shirts allowed
• Profanity and improper behaviors are prohibited.
• No street shoes allowed on the pool deck.
• Masks and/or snorkels are not allowed. (Must be over 18 or part of a program)
• Starting blocks are for competitive and swim lesson use only.
• In the event of a thunderstorm, the pool will be closed until 30 minutes after the storm has passed.
• Only Coast Guard certified personal flotation devices allowed.
(No water wings or other inflatables.)
• Rules are subject to change at any time.
Open Swim Rules
Children age 12 and above can swim without a parent present. Please follow the buddy system so your child does not swim alone. Children 10-11 must have a parent or guardian present in he pool area. Parents that accompany children need to be in proper swim attire in the pool area. Children under the age of 10 need an adult parent/guardian in the water with them at all times.

Lap Swim Rules
• We attempt to keep one lap lane open at all times for adult lap swim.
• If there are two swimmers in a lane, they may split the lane until a third swimmer joins them. The first person to enter that lane has the choice of splitting or circle swimming.
• When three or more swimmers are in one lane, they circle swim by swimming in a counter clockwise direction with their right side swimming close to the lane line.
• Make sure that proper circle swim etiquette is followed (faster swimmers go first, slower swimmers follow.
• Maximum capacity for each lane is six swimmers.
• During programs the available lap lanes are reserved for use by adults only. Children 12 & up may use lap lanes during open swim hours or specified lap swim times only if they are swimming properly; special exceptions may apply with Director approval. Youth may be asked to move from lanes if they are not swimming properly or adults are present to swim.
• Members may use lap lanes to exercise if space is available. Please use courtesy in exiting lap lanes for lap swimmers.
• Kickboards pull buoys, and hand paddles are available for lap swim use.
• Lifeguards need to clear the lanes and move the lane lines 5 minutes prior to the start time of scheduled classes.
